Kate Macdowell

Kate Macdowell is a very inspiring ceramic artist working in porcelain.  Her work is painstakingly detailed, rendering imagery that comments on genetic modification and other controversial biological concepts.

Here is a video of mixed media artist John Casey using the scraffito slip technique to add illustrative details to his ceramic sculpture.

On his website he has some interesting illustrations and mixed media sculptures.
